Meaher State Park

March 12, 2022

Once again, the trip to Mobile was largely a straight shot West along I-10, our old friend. And speaking of old friends, we stopped at the same Buc-ee’s location just East of Mobile as we were pulling into the city to fill our tanks and our bellies. Apparently, the word had gotten out about Buc-ee’s, it was packed compared to our stop a few months ago. That being said, we still managed to find an empty lane where we could pull through with the camper – one of those important little things if you’re an RVer.

In fact, this wasn’t even our final trip to this Buc-ee’s – as we opted to meet Trudy, Katie, and Kaleigh there a few days later as they were passing through on their trip from Oklahoma to the Jones’ new home in Jacksonville. After a long few months on our own down in Florida, it was nice to see some familiar faces, if not for just a few minutes!

Our accommodation for the week was the Meaher State Park, located right on the Mobile Bay within eyeshot (and earshot, but not too too loud) from I-10. We had a nice, quiet week at this lovely campground, complete with lots of walks which made for some great birdwatching.

Honestly, that’s about all that we have from this stop! We didn’t really get out and do anything besides grocery stopping and a quick trip to Bass Pro. Sometimes it’s nice to just hang with your best friend for a few days and take in this beautiful world of ours!
